The best way I could see (for now), was to break down pictures and documents (outside of correspondence) into three categories. They would be: 1) birth till about 18 or so; 2) 18 till marriage; and 3) friends. After that the significance of pictures changes to the NEW branch of the family tree, but then the main document gallery reflects pictures of the main people from this branch, and pictures of their children and grandchildren.
