FR. PATRICK LAVIN was born at St. Andrew’s parish, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 1921. He died suddenly at Los Angeles on April 18, 1989. Fr. Pat was ordained priest in December 1946 in Boston having studied at Silver Creek, Bristol and St. Columban’s, Nebraska. He served as Bursar and Socius in Bristol [1947-49]. He went to the Philippines in 1950 and worked in Mindanao. Returning to the U.S. in 1969 he served in Bristol and as pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish in Westminster, California. From 1980-86 he was Superior in San Francisco.
Then, after a year in Quincy, Massachusetts he became pastor of St. Columban’s Filipino parish in Los Angeles. Fr. Pat is buried at the family plot at Canton, Massachusetts, USA.
